Since 1995, DKMS LIFE has been organizing cosmetic seminars Germany-wide in more than 200 partnership clinics. Since 2011, a hair program has been established, which is carried put together with specially trained hairdressers. With both programs, cancer patients are encouraged to pursue a life-promoting way of coping with the illness and the consequences of the treatment. The motto to incentivize new courage for life and, in turn, to build up a a new quality of life, is called "Help for Self-Help": feeling better thanks to looking good.
