Disclosure of your personal information to third parties

The purpose of processing your data is to match stem cell donors with patients. Your donor information as well as the results of the previously conducted typing of your tissue characteristics are transmitted in anonymous form to national and/or international bone marrow donor registers. This means that only data that are relevant for the important decisions in the donor search are transmitted. This mainly includes your donor number, gender, date of birth, tissue characteristics, the number of previously conducted typings, and your donor status – whether you are available or not. Names, addresses, or similar identifying information are not transmitted.

In order to fulfill our tasks, we also need to work together with service providers who may also receive personal information for the above purpose. These service providers are contractually obligated by DKMS to use personal data that they receive in this context only for the purpose permitted. We hereby ensure you that we do not sell or rent your data to other companies or organizations. Under no circumstances will we use your e-mail address or other data without your approval for any other purposes for which you have not granted your consent.

However, in principle it is possible to uniquely allocate user data via this attribute using static IP addresses. Our webservers save IP addresses for a maximum of 24 hours. Afterwards the access data is anonymized.
